2. Important notes

To start recommending, upselling, or cross-selling with the Order Booster app, you need to create a booster rule first.

There are 4 types of conditions:

1. Product Property:

This condition is only applied on the product page, it will validate the current viewing product’s property with defined condition. In other pages, this type of condition will be ignored.

2. Line Item in Cart:

This condition is available on all pages, it will validate for all line items in cart, and will be valid if at least one line item in cart matches the condition. Line item in a cart has all the properties that a single product has, and it also has the quantity property. This condition is a combination condition, which contains multi sub-conditions, a line item will be matched to condition if it passes all sub-conditions. Eg: A line item in cart condition which checks for line item: Has brand is “Apple”, has price “greater than” $300 and has quantity “greater than”

3. Cart:

This condition is available on all pages, it will validate for the whole cart and will be valid if cart property matches the condition.

4. Customer:

This condition is available on all pages, it will validate for the customer and will be valid if customer property matches the condition. This condition can also be used to personalize the suggestions, based on calculated property from customer’s history data.

  1. Upsell:
Upselling is a sales technique where a seller invites the customer to purchase more expensive items, upgrades, or
other add-ons to generate more revenue. While it usually involves marketing more profitable services or products, it
can be simply exposing the customer to other options that were perhaps not considered.
  2. Cross sell:
Cross-selling is the action or practice of selling an additional product or service to an existing customer. The
product to be sold as cross sell often complements the main product(not replace it). Eg: Customers who buy the
Laptop might also like to buy a Mouse
  3. Booster Rule
Booster Rule is where we define the rule to display the list of suggestion products(manually picked) on some
(selected) pages. We can set up a condition to display the product in a very flexible way, it helps to tailor the rule to
find the best match page to display a list of products that fit customer needs.
Rules also allow you to schedule rule activation, customize displayed messages on the storefront. It also supports
A/B Testing, which separates a list of suggested products into 2 versions to determine which version is better.
