About Email in BigCommerce

Avoid testing with the email address you are forwarding to to prevent your email get caught in a cycle of forwarding.
The built-in email forwarding in BigCommerce cannot be used if you need to configure MX records for a third-party email service.
Custom SMTP Servers
If your third-party email provider gives you SMTP login information, you may use it to access that host’s servers to send emails for your shop, including invoices and order updates.
