10. What happens if customer A has already added the last item to their cart, but customer B completes the checkout first? Will the cart for customer A be updated?

Yes. The BackOrder scripts will continuously check if you do have enough items on hand. It will refresh the cart and disable the purchasibility of a product once the saleable quantity is depleted.
