The data synchronization will depend on the data source:
- Manage inventory in BigCommerce: this option serves the scenario when you exclusively manage inventory within BigCommerce, without the integration of any additional inventory systems. By selecting this option, BackOrder will become your primary inventory source for BackOrder products. Consequently, any updates to BackOrder product inventory must be made directly within the app. Other data will be updated automatically from BigCommerce database to BackOrder app (NOT vice versa) via webhook connection. In case of a delay, hit Manual Sync button to pull the latest product data, except for the BackOrder products’ inventory.
- Manage inventory in ERP: this option serves the scenario when you manage inventory via a third-party system and the inventory is updated from your ERP to BigCommerce. By selecting this option, BackOrder will constantly pull inventory from BigCommerce database for BackOrder products via webhook connection. In case of a delay, hit Manual Sync button to pull the latest product data immediately, including the inventory of assigned products. The daily sync is automatically scheduled at 1:00 am to ensure seamless data. You can adjust this scheduled time to fit your preferences. Please fill in the ERP field to help us assist you more efficiently. This field is solely for our internal tracking purposes. The name of the system you enter here will not affect the way your data syncs.
- Sync inventory via BackOrder API: this option serves the scenario when you manage inventory via a third-party system and the inventory is updated from your ERP directly to BackOrder app via the API connection. By selecting this option, Backorder will pull inventory from your ERP at the frequency that you set up.
Other data will be updated automatically from BigCommerce database to BackOrder app via webhook connection. In case of a delay, hit Manual Sync button to pull the latest product data, except for the BackOrder products’ inventory.
Although data from BigCommerce is automatically synchronized with the BackOrder app, there might be instances such as webhook delays, where you wish to manually force-sync the latest data from BigCommerce. To do this, you can use the general Sync button.
ð¡When you hover over the Sync button, you may notice the time frame of the last manual sync that was performed, not the automatic sync that is carried out within the system.
